Once you've decided what to include in your unique combination of elements, prepare your solar altar. Working with the energy of the sun, dress your altar with your choice of magical tools. A small bowl of Florida Water or burning incense makes an excellent offering for ancestors and guides. Other helpful but optional tools include: an athame for cord cutting, a scrying mirror for shadow work, feathers for moving and transforming stagnant energies.
Once your altar is prepared, combine a few drops of each essential oil blended with dried herbs, crystals and your intention in a carrier oil of your choice to create ritual anointing oil or a water based spray. Some favorite carrier oils are grape seed, avocado and jojoba. You can write a letter of intention, also known as a petition, detailing what you'd like to manifest and/or release this season and a plan of action to do so.
Once you've prepared your solar elixir, leave it out under the sun in the shade for a whole day and one night to charge with the letter of intention underneath the bottle. Once charged, you can use your anointing oil to dress candles for any fire magic done during this season. The water-based spray can be used before and after meditation, or even throughout the day- anytime you'd like to focus your energy on the intention you imbued into it.
